This information is held by Wix and is subject to Wix's own Privacy Policy, which can be found at www.wix.com/about/privacy. We have entered into a Data Processing Agreement with Wix to ensure your data is handled appropriately under UK GDPR.

 

4.2 Email Domain Verification

To ensure only authorised students can access the Site, we check that your email address ends with an approved school domain (e.g. @yourschool.ac.uk). This check happens automatically when you sign up. We do not store your email address ourselves - it is held securely by Wix.

 

4.3 AI Text Simplification

The Site includes a feature that allows you to paste complex text and receive a simplified version powered by artificial intelligence (OpenAI GPT-4o mini). When you use this feature:

  • The text you paste is sent to OpenAI's servers for processing

  • OpenAI processes the text and returns a simplified version

  • We do not store the text you paste or the simplified results

  • OpenAI's use of this data is governed by their own privacy policy and data retention terms

4.4 What We Do NOT Collect

We do NOT collect, store or process:

  • Your full name (unless provided via Google account)

  • Your date of birth

  • Your home address

  • Your phone number

  • Notes or work you create on the Site

  • Your browsing history on the Site

 

5. Our Legal Basis for Processing Your Data

Under UK GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for processing personal data. Our lawful bases are:

  • Legitimate interests - to operate the educational platform and verify that only authorised students can access it

  • Consent - where we rely on consent, for example for users under 13 where parental consent is required

 

We process only the minimum data necessary to fulfil these purposes.

 

6. How We Share Your Data

We do not sell your personal data to any third party. Your data may be shared with:

  • Wix - as our platform provider, who processes data on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement

  • OpenAI - only when you actively use the text simplification feature

 

We do not share your data with any other third parties.

 

7. How Long We Keep Your Data

Your email address and account information is kept by Wix for as long as you have an active account. When you delete your account, Wix will delete your personal data in accordance with their data retention policy.

 

We do not store any of your personal data independently - all data is held by Wix.

  • Right to rectification - you can ask us to correct inaccurate data

11. Children's Privacy

We take the privacy of children very seriously and comply with the UK Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code).

 

If you are under 13 years old, we require that a parent or guardian has given consent for you to use this Site. We:

  • Use only your school email address to verify access

  • Do not collect your full name, date of birth, or address

  • Do not store notes or work you create

  • Do not use your data for advertising or profiling
