The Three Pillars
Sikhs follow three main rules in daily life:

Naam Japo – Pray and meditate to stay close to God.
Kirat Karo – Work honestly and earn a living through fair means.
Vand Chakko – Share with those in need, helping the community.

Fighting the Five Thieves
Sikhs must work to control five internal distractions called the Five Thieves:

Lust
Anger
Greed
Attachment
Ego

These feelings can pull people away from God, so followers strive to overcome them through self-discipline and good actions.

Selfless Service (Seva)
Seva means serving others without expecting anything in return. Helping the poor, volunteering, or supporting your community are all ways of practicing Seva. Serving others is also seen as serving God.

Equality in Action
Sikhs believe all people are equal. In Langar, the community meal at the Gurdwara, everyone sits on the floor together—rich or poor, men or women—showing that everyone is treated the same.

Bravery and Defense
Members of the Khalsa take a special vow to protect the rights of the oppressed and live with courage, honesty, and purity. Bravery is not just physical—it also means standing up for justice and doing what is right.

Everyday Example:
Helping someone in need, being honest at school, controlling anger, or taking part in community service are ways Sikhs live their faith. Even small acts of kindness and fairness reflect the values of Sikhism in daily life.
